Hey Hailey!
I really enjoyed getting to read all of your blogs throughout the course, meet with you weekly, and work on projects together. I know this last week was challenging for you with being sick so I am proud you were able to push through and do such a lovely job on everything.
I like how you are always thinking with the end in mind when planning your content. When I was on my first practicum my mentor stressed this and it has been my main goal ever since. As teachers and humans we can get so wrapped up with the aesthetic. Focusing on how loud a class was, how nice the printing was isn’t really the point. We need to focus on what the messy printing was saying or what the loud conversations were about. In the end if we are producing quality work, or meaningful conversations we have done our job. I am happy to know that teachers continue to focus on the end result and what we truly want them to achieve by the end of the lesson. Overall, you did a great job of discussing the UbD principal of learning. I really enjoyed the images you used and the video it was a very lively blog this week. I wonder if next time you could reflect more on UID principal as you said you weren’t as familiar with it and I figure it could be a great learning opportunity. Very well done thank you!
