My main goal was to develop a portfolio that shows who I am as a teacher and what I have developed thus far. I started my website by categorizing resources so you can get a glimpse of who I am as a teacher. I have never been very computer savvy, so this has been a challenge; however, learning to make a website and display resources is a great learning opportunity for the future. My portfolio showcases the types of lessons I have made in the past and the style of lessons I will make in the future. In the future, I hope to continue to make changes to showcase a better understanding of my learning and for others to get a glimpse of who I am as a teacher. I also primarily used my own photographs so that you can learn a little bit about me at the start of each page! I believe the journey of creating my portfolio showcases the standard “Educators act ethically and maintain the integrity, credibility and reputation of the profession” In sharing my experiences, lesson plans, teaching philosophies and experiences, I am allowing all future parents, colleagues, principals, and everyone else on the internet free reign as to my learning journey in becoming a teacher. I am showcasing my past and my present and my intentions for the future. I want to be a positive role model to students, proud of my personal learning journey and all my accomplishments. Being a teacher means being a role model, and I will never take that responsibility lightly. I believe putting myself out there and showcasing who I am and what I intend to do meets the UVIC competency of exploring professionalism. Through creating my portfolio, I have reflected on my journey and am proud of the teacher I am becoming!
