These photos represent the process of the mandala I made. This place was special to me as It was the beach I first took my therapy dog too when I got her. I started with taking her on a short play on the beach. She picked up a shell, some seaweed, a crab leg, and a stick. I then found some more of these pieces and made a mandala out of them.

These photos are of the finished product. I used all of the items she picked up and played with to create a mandala. I wanted a place that was significant to me and to work with my dog who is very special to me. I used the different placements of objects to form a circle. I scoured the beach finding enough shells, and crab parts, and seaweed bulbs, and sticks. I wanted to make a mandala because it is meant to be a therapeutic experience and I made it with my therapy dog.

This was what happened after I walked to the other side of the beach and back. I then got my dog to sit in the centre because she was proud of our work! I chose a mandala because the point is to destroy it once it has been created. This assignment was meant to showcase the degradation of our piece and I felt like that fit perfectly with a mandala. Cinnabon did a little dig on the mandala and some people had stepped on it and a few of the seaweed bulbs had been popped. This assignment was really fun and I enjoyed getting to make an art piece not only in a place that means a lot to me but also with my dog.
