Here is an example newsletter I have created to connect with parents and inform them of the year to come. I also have example report card comments on fictional students to provide examples of feedback. Lastly, I have a student Contract, an example plan for dealing with a student who has problems focusing in the classroom. My student contract showcases steps parents can take to support their students further and creates communication streams between parent and teacher. I want to create a safe classroom where parents feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued by creating opportunities to include parents in the classroom and support learning at home. Having opportunities to actively engage, as well as model creating positive and supportive relationships with families showcases students my willingness to connect and support them.
