First, I would like to acknowledge the hard work, energy, and time that went into creating this resource. This is a topic I am familiar with and being Indigenous was excited to see a group engage with the content and practice. All notes are strictly from my opinion and perspective and in no way need to be addressed as you have already created a wonderful resource. Thank you for allowing me to learn with your resource and I hope my words can be of some help in its further development.

I am going to go point by point from the criteria to ensure everything has been discussed.

  • An overview of the resource (revised from your blueprint and expanded).
    • A concise definition of your topic, citing at least two academic sources. Right at the beginning, clear, concise, sighted two resources both by established authors. Really enjoyed and had a clear undestanding of the work.
    • One-two misconceptions about your topic, e.g., what do people usually misunderstand? I couldn’t explicitly find this section. I recommend sharing maybe, why people choose not to engage with the topic, what makes others hesitant, or how people engage with the topic in a surface level way without doing the work. I think adding in any of these questions would help further highlight this topic.
    • A rationale for developing your learning resource based on this topic. Again, not explicit however sharing what happens when students do not engage with this type of teaching is a way to share why it is important. Stating, what happens when belonging is not fostered creates intinsic motivation for teachers to create belonging for their students. With the work being for older students a concise explanation explicitly written could be helpful for some students.
    • A description of your learning context/target audience/learners. Not direct however indirectly the language, work, and discussion of “in the classroom” leads me to believe it is made for teachers, facilitators, professors etc. I recommend starting the resource with who the work might be helpful for.
    • A description of a platform where your interactive learning resource/course will be hosted. The idea of why technology is important is mentioned but not for google slides. Adding why you chose to use the resource could be helpful for educators to evaluate why they might choose that same resource for their presentations in the future.

  • A description and rationale for the learning theory upon which your resource will be based (behaviourism, cognitivism, or constructivism). This is missing, I think the structure of your work and the topic, and activities showcase what structure you followed but again making it explicit and sharing why and how I think is important.
  • A description and rationale for the learning design you chose. I would add a description for why you chose to facilitate the teachings in the four questions as well as activities that corresponded.
  • Alignment
    • Subtopics with a brief commentary: This was clear and concise. Used
    • Content for each subtopic: I enjoyed the variety of how you presented the content while also following a structure.
    • Essential questions : Solid questions with 2 for each
    • Learning objectives: The learning objective should answer the essential questions. For generosity for example the question discusses why its needed versus the objective speaks of mastery. I would revise the question or the objective.
    • An assessment plan: This piece is missing, for our group we typically used self assessments so the reflection you include could be slightly altered to follow a similair model.
    • Actual assessments: possibly a rubric or self assesment?
    • Description of one interactive activity for each learning objective: There was a decription of how students can engage with the topic.
    • An actual interactive activity for each learning objective: There was an activity for each section and they each used a variety of resources, touched on each topic, and were thoughtful.

  • UDL Guidelines and specific CAST principles. I didnt see exact quotes or references to either guideline or principal.
  • A rationale for your technology choices. I did not see a rationale to why you chose google slides
  • A bibliography or reference list of all resources cited. you did a good job citing and using in text citations as well.

Overall, I would go through the rubric and make sure you have addressed each topic, subject, or question. I think the topic is well developed, the content is well researched, the sources are diverse, and the activities are thoughtful. I know some pieces are present but not exactly stated or highlighted and though it can feel redundant it can be good too have them easily accessible. I really enjoyed getting to engage with your resource and am excited to see how it continues to grow and develop.
